    Acrylic and crayon on hardboard panel 33" x 24" I am finding that colour is nudging me, knocking me off my post, though I cling to the gentle neutrals with all my strength. And yet, see, the colour is insisting. As I was painting this, I could sense all the time, the early days when my mum used to make me bright, cotton, summer dresses with lots of gathers at the waist. I could almost smell the new fabric as I worked on this painting.
