    Acrylic and charcoal on canvas 24" x 24" I like the freshness and immediacy you can get with acrylics. This painting started with a lot of transparent colour, mainly reds, but today I worked over it with largely opaques which I mixed from the three primaries plus brown-black and white. I've been looking at the work of Patrick Prockter and early David Hockney and the freedom with which they let the paint pass over the surface.
