    Acrylic and pastel on canvas 24" x 24" One of the challenges of sculpture for me is that spontaneity is more difficult to arrive at because with clay you sort of have to plan a bit in advance. For instance, anything over about 3 inches tall has to have a strong armature and so it is "intention" driven from the very start really. Paint on the other hand is very forgiving and allows for multiple adaptations and transformations as you work and especially if you work in a fast drying medium.
